When we started producing sneakers customers told us they were fed up with paying luxury prices for mediocre goods. Products that just weren’t durable, an uncomfortable fit and not built to last. We knew we could do better.

We scoured the world to find the best craftsmen and women who really knew what luxury artisanal craftsmanship really meant.

Born Outside Italy sneakers are produced in the heartland of Italian luxury shoemaking district, in small factories in the Marche and Veleto region by the '99 hands of skilled Calzolai or shoemaker'

We make small batches of exceptional quality sneakers.

All of our our shoes are crafted using traditional tools and techniques passed down through the generations of craftsmen and women. Our aim has always been to create you a beautiful aesthetic but something that you won't want to take off. Innovative design meets artisanal production.  

Take our Hexnut soles. Custom moulded and made for their flexibility from a thermoplastic rubber, that’s flex tested over 10,000 cycles for it’s durability.

MEET THE WOMAN BEHIND SNEAKER001

With a rich background in footwear design, including collaborations with Virgil Abloh on Off-White sneakers, Janna Arnold has a strong influence from her work with notable fashion figures challenging convention.

Janna collaborated on Ambush with Yoon Ahn was to create the first line of footwear for the well known jewellery brand.

Her approach is deeply influenced by her respect for craftsmanship and sustainability, pushing for ethical practices in fashion.

Janna's vision for Born Outside Italy's Sneaker001 merges artisanal Italian craftsmanship with gender-fluid fashion, promoting self-expression and innovation in the industry.
